Brendan McCormack’s passion for artistic expression has been a lifelong journey. Music, photography, and writing are his main areas of focus. Pursing these creative outlets were strongly encouraged by his supportive family. As the youngest of five children growing up in the suburbs of New York City, Brendan was inspired by his surroundings. Routine visits to NYC with his Bronx-bred parents left him awestruck by the city’s magnitude and energy. When he moved there in 2003, his appreciation for this metropolis only increased.
In 1998, Brendan bought two turntables and compiled an impressive vinyl collection. Being self-taught, he spent countless hours perfecting his craft and developing a unique style. After years of hard work and graduating Hunter College, DJ Rumor established himself as one of New York’s most talented mixers. He is currently a Resident DJ at Madison Square Garden for Knicks and Rangers games. He also spins The NYC Marathon, US Open Tennis, Westminster Dog Show, plus events for NBC, ESPN, Glamour, and other clients.
Brendan uses photography to document beautiful structures, interesting people, and intriguing juxtapositions. Simply walking down the street motivates him to capture brief scenes that help define the city’s unique essence.
From an early age, Brendan envisioned becoming a writer. Gathering one’s thoughts and transforming them into art has always peaked his interest. In addition to being an avid book reader, Brendan is writing fiction and non-fiction pieces.
Brendan lives in Manhattan.
